Seth Gordon, the director behind the famous movie “The King of Kong: a Fistful of Quarters” which was his stepping stone to his now polished career in directing. Today, he is well-known for the generous list of films and television shows that he has directed, edited and produced for many large institutions including in Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), the United Nations, as well as the Gates Foundation.
Due to overwhelming demands, festivals including the Slamdance Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival were able to recognize his talent by featuring his works in the said events. But before he gained the level that he is in right now, he worked extra hard just like others who are aspiring the same position in life. He took time to finish his studies first at Lakeside School, then after graduation he decided to take up architecture at Yale University. During his course at the said school, he went to Kenya for six months in order to assist in the building of the school and other small buildings in the village of Shimanyiro. There were also instances during this project that Gordon was able to witness the corruption that was involved in the budget allocated for the school which urged him to make an unexpected film that he then edited when he got back to Yale after the project in Kenya was finished. After his studies in Yale University, his venture didn’t stop there because he also went to Harvard Graduate School of Design in order to hone his talent and imagination in a more complex manner. Then he started becoming a cameraman, and editor, and then a producer of various documentaries including the “Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing”, “New York Doll”, and “Cry Wolf”. In 2008, he was able to release his very first studio film for New Line Cinema entitled “Four Christmases” which starred Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaugh. At present, his new film “Horrible Bosses” is something that both the public and the critics are excited to see.
In this film, Gordon worked with producers Brett Ratner and Jay Stern, writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, and it will be releases by two of the largest companies in film New Line Cinema and Warner Bros.
The cast is a start studded list including Jason Bateman (Nick Hendricks), Charlie Day (Dale Arbus), Jason Sudeikis (Kurt Buckman), Jennifer Aniston (Dr. Julia Harris), Colin Farrell (Bobby Pellitt), Kevin Spacey (Dave Harken), and Jamie Fox (Motherfucka Jones). Before the filming of this movie, Bateman already made a name for himself in the world of entertainment starting of with television. He was part of shows including “Little House on the Prairie” (1981), “Silver Spoons” (1982-1984), “Just a Little More Love” (1983), “ The Fantastic World of D.C. But his works don’t end there because he was also able to star in many different movies including “Hancock” (2008), “Couples Retreat” (2009), and “The Switch” (2010). His co-actors in the movie also have their own share of fame, Charlie Day was in television shows and movies including “Mary and Rhoda” (2000), “Madigan Men” (2000), “Campfire Stories” (2001), “Late Summer” (2001”, “Law and Order” (2001), “Love Thy Neighbor” (2002), “Bad Company” (2002), “Luis” (2003), “Reno 911!” (2004),“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” (2005-present), “A Quiet Little Marriage” (2008), and “Going the Distance” (2010). Having a boss isn’t really that bad, but if your boss is as horrible as Dr. Julia Harris (Jennifer Aniston), Bobby Pellitt (Colin Farrell), and Dave Harken (Kevin Spacey), well you better make a run for it. But Nick Hendricks (Jason Bateman), Dale Arbus (Charlie Day), and Kurt Buckman (Jason Sudeikis) are not willing to give up their job even if it means dealing with a psychotic boss. So with the help of liquor and a deceptive con artist, they started to make a plan on how to permanently get rid of their boss. But when they were already making it work, the plan didn’t seem as foolproof as they think.
